Major Road Work in Moorhead Delayed Until 2016

An extensive street construction project planned for downtown Moorhead this summer has been delayed.

City Engineer Bob Zimmerman says only one contractor bid on the nearly $9-million project and it came in nearly $3-million over estimates.

He says with contractors extremely busy this summer, he doesn’t believe many of them were prepared to take on another major project.

The project on Main and Center Avenues and 8th Street will be rebid later this summer or fall with construction planned for 2016.
