A North Dakota man is heading down to Texas to assist with disaster relief efforts.
Seventy-five-year-old Ed Janzen becomes the fourth volunteer from the state to go to New Braunfels, Texas.
The area has been plagued by storms and heavy rain since last month.
Red Cross officials say around 8,000 people have been affected by the storms.
Fifty Red Cross response vehicles are helping the impacted neighborhoods. Janzen will help with logistics.
“I haven’t always been in floods. I did the California wild fires and hurricanes and whatever. But it’s always nice to be a part of the big organization,” Janzen says.
Janzen leaves Thursday and is expected to stay in Texas for two weeks.
