Local Labor Leaders Oppose Fast Track Trade Legislation
Local labor leaders are urging congressional members to oppose fast track trade legislation.
Leaders from several local labor groups say the legislation would give the president too much power.
If the legislation passes, they say the president may pass trade legislation without too much discussion.
The group says this could lead to losing jobs to other countries.
“What this really does is it gives people a free pass to ship jobs overseas with no repercussions, with no consequences,” said ND AFL-CIO President Waylon Hedegaard.
The group says the senate is expected to vote on Fast Track Tuesday
