Outstanding Warrant Helped Make Case Against Hunter
Fargo Police say a years-old shoplifting warrant gave detectives extra times as they built their case against the suspect in two homicides.
Lt. Joel Vettel says that the shoplifting warrant against 35-year-old Ashley Hunter for stolen chicken, allowed police to hold the man while detectives gathered evidence linking him to the homicides.
Hunter has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 45-year-old Clarence Flowers and 25-year-old Samuel Traut.
Authorities say Hunter was acquainted with Flowers, but didn’t know Traut, who lived in an apartment building directly behind Hunter’s.
