Gene Kirkpatrick Denied A 3rd Appeal
The North Dakota Supreme Court has rejected a third appeal by Gene Kirkpatrick.
He is the Oklahoma man who was convicted of hiring a hit man to kill his son-in-law, Fargo dentist Philip Gattuso in 2009.
In his latest appeal, Kirkpatrick said his attorney was ineffective during discussions about a possible plea deal.
He unsuccessfully appealed to the Supreme Court earlier this year and in 2012.
Kirkpatrick is serving life in prison without parole.
