Moorhead Man Arrested in Cash Wise Check Cashing Scheme

Police have arrested a Moorhead man in connection with a check-cashing scheme that targeted local Cash Wise stores.

Police say 33-year-old Jason Crochet, cashed over $15-thousand in fake payroll checks in June at Cash Wise stores in Fargo and Moorhead.

Police say he printed the checks in his apartment with the names of at least three companies that don’t exist.

Investigators seized numerous items including a computer, printers and business checks from Crochet’s apartment.
