Minnesota DNR Allots 5.5 Million to Oakport for Flood Protection

Big news on the final phase of flood protection for the Oakport area of Moorhead.

Mayor Del Rae Williams says the Minnesota DNR will be allotting $5.5 million to complete what is called Phase 4 of the project.

A total of $5.6 million in state funding was requested to complete the flood mitigation project.

It’ll provide protection to around 750 acres and 700 people.

Oakport Township became a part of Moorhead on January 1st of this year.
