Members of the North Dakota National Guard’s 188th Army band hosted a free concert in downtown Fargo.
The unit’s Flatland Dixieland Band performed traditional classics from Orleans style jazz to Cajun music.
The concert is the Army’s way of showing the public how much the Army National Guard has to offer.
It is also an effort to gain community support, and show patriotism through the art of music.
“To play for a group you see the audience is into it. Whether a little kid dancing or maybe an elderly veteran that is struggling to stand up for the anthem it really gets us at our heart strings,” said Jennifer Schwind Army Band Member.
This is the third time the band has hosted the free concert at the U.S. Bank Plaza.
