Crash Site Believed to be Missing Ray Couple’s Plane
A plane believed to belong to a Minnesota couple has been found crashed on the side of Twin Sisters Mountain in Washington.
According to a friend, the pilot was Bob Nevalainen of Ray.
Bob and his wife Gayle own a single-engine Piper plane.
They took off from International Falls on Saturday bound for Orcas Island.
Their friend said the couple had planned a 6 to 8 week trip to Alaska.
Bob and Gayle were both volunteer firefighters.
Ray is located 18 miles southeast of International Falls.
