Detroit Lakes Woman Killed in Devils Lake Boating Accident

A Detroit Lakes woman is dead after a boating accident on Devils Lake.

Authorities say 26-year-old April Stenger was killed when the boat she was on crashed into a tree about 30 yards from shore.

Two Devils Lake men and a woman from Halstad were flown to Altru in Grand Forks with serious injuries.

The boat driver from Grand Forks had non-life threatening injuries.

The accident happened around 2:45 in the morning on Sunday in the Haybale Heights Campground area.
