Cass County Jail Nurse Sentenced in Sex Case

A former nurse at the Cass County Jail is sentenced to community service for having sex with an inmate.

47-year-old Claire Schwehr of Dilworth was given 200 hours of community service, the most ever imposed by the judge.

Schwehr will not spend any time in jail or have to register as a sex offender.

The prosecutor wanted 90 days of electronic home monitoring.

Her lawyer argued that the monitoring is too expensive and Schwehr is already having financial problems.

She was working for Fargo-Cass Public Health when she was charged last July.
