West Fargo Woman Loses Nearly $7,800 in Overseas Scam

A 76-year old West Fargo woman loses nearly $78-HUNDRED DOLLARS in a computer scam.

Police say the woman clicked on a pop-up ad saying there was something wrong with her computer and she should call a number to get it fixed.

She did and was then told to send a $279 MoneyGram to India.

Police say the woman ended up sending three more MoneyGrams worth nearly $2,500 a piece.

Since the money went overseas, it’s unlikely she’ll ever get it back.
