Sturgis Rally Brings in Big Bucks for South Dakota’s Economy
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this year not only brought in hordes of people, but plenty of money, too.
There were more than 14-hundred vendors in the Black Hills during the rally and temporary vendor sales totaled $33 million.
So far South Dakota has collected more than $2.4 million in tax revenue during the rally.
That’s up 76% from a year ago.
This year’s Sturgis rally was the 75th annual gathering in the Black Hills and was estimated to be one of the busiest on record.
