Police Arrest Moorhead Man After Chase

A high–speed chase in West Fargo ends in a garbage dumpster.

West Fargo Police officers say they initiated a traffic stop at the 3100 block of Veterans Boulevard early Friday morning after noticing Jake Donahue’s headlights weren’t on.

Police say he didn’t stop and the pursuit began reaching speeds up to 60 mph.

Officials say he then stopped in the 4600 block of 33rd Avenue South and fled on foot where he hid in an apartment complex dumpster.

The Fargo Police Department’s K–9 tracked Donahue down, who was then taken to Cass County Jail.

Police discovered the car had been stolen.

Police say keep your keys on you to prevent your car from being stolen.

“We certainly want to have people lock their homes and even the vehicles that they leave in the garage. It’s always a good idea to take those keys into the house with you so that if somebody does gain access to your garage their not able to take your cars,” said West Fargo Police Chief Mike Reitan.

The 23–year–old was previously convicted of a felony for marijuana possession.

He faces charges of fleeing, reckless endangerment and possession of a stolen vehicle.
