FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Construction is now underway to build the lodging facility for Sanford cancer patients.

The Peltier Lodge, located at the site of the old Scandia Hotel, will house up to 23 patients and their caregivers.

The facility will also feature communal spaces, kitchenettes, a wellness room, and an outdoor courtyard patio.

On average, 54 patients at Roger Maris need temporary or long-term lodging each day.

Patients who stay at the lodging will remain as long as they need care at Roger Maris.

“We are so proud of the Roger Maris Cancer Center, we’re proud of our staff, our physicians, and we’re so proud of the services we’re able to offer. And the Peltier Lodge is just kind of another thing that’s going to add to those services at the Roger Maris Cancer Center,” said Susan Jarvis, Sanford Fargo Chief Operating Officer.

The lodge is estimated to be completed by June of 2027.
