Williston Triples Hotel Space; Working to Fill Rooms
Williston more than tripled its number of hotel rooms over the last five years, and now the city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau is working to keep them full.
Williston had six hotels before January 2010.
Now, the city is home to 23 hotel properties, and on average, about 55 percent of their 2,100 rooms are occupied.
That figure doesn’t include the 500 rooms available just outside city limits.
Williston’s CVB director says limited meeting space makes it difficult to attract conventions whose attendees would fill those rooms.
