Sanford Health wants students to take a break from homework and get moving.
Energ–i–ze is an event that makes being active, eating healthy, and playing a priority for students.
Kids got their heart rate up by riding an exercise bike and eating a variety of whole grains.
The event aims to increase nutrition and teach kids physical activity skills.
Sanford employees say it’s a good family event to teach healthy habits at a young age.
“Well I think it’s very important because the obesity epidemic is pretty high now, and if we could just get the kids active. We want to get the families involved too so we have parents with them,” said Energ-i-ze Program Coordinator Laine Richard.
Other elementary schools around the F–M area are also hosting the event.
