Suspect and Victim Identified in Grand Forks Stabbing
36-year old Nicolas Peralez Jr. of Grand Forks has been charged with murder after a stabbing that occurred around 5-am this morning.
Grand Forks Police responded to the 2300 block south of 12th Street where they found the victim unresponsive with multiple stab wounds, after crashing into two parked cars.
“An autopsy to determine exactly the cause of death, and detectives are right now in the process of working on the crime scene, and establishing exactly what happened,” said Lt. Bill Macki of Grand Forks Police.
It is believed that the victim was attempting to drive himself to the hospital, after a fight took place with Peralez at his apartment located just two blocks away from the crash.
Police were unable to release the name of the victim but one neighbor shared with us the victim a 31-year-old Hispanic male named Josh has lived in this building for over a year.
Melvin Brown who lives just one floor down from the victim, says he knew josh and his family very well, and was shocked to hear what happened.
“Tragic, cause like I said he was a really nice guy he didn’t bother nobody for somebody to get hurt over here, and then die that’s crazy,” said Melvin Brown neighbor of the victim.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police have notified the family and the victim has been confirmed as 31-year-old Joshua Neumann of Grand Forks.
