As national bullying month wraps up, Cheney Middle School is celebrating inclusiveness all week.

To kick off inclusive spirit week, students wore red to promote student kindness.
Bison football players will stop by for lunch on Wednesday to help celebrate national mix it up lunch week.

The event encourages students to sit with someone new for lunch. The goal is for students to cross group lines and interact with someone new.

“Middle school is tough. Ya know? And this is kind of the time we see these groups, these cliques, these different groups forming and that’s really hard for students to break down those barriers and try to meet someone new or feel included,” says Cheney Middle School Counselor, Lisa Klabunde.

The week will end with a performance by Blind Joe who can currently be seen competing on “The Voice”.

He will also talk to students about overcoming challenges.
