Minneapolis Officers on Leave After Shooting Assault Suspect
The Minnesota B-C-I is investigating after a Minneapolis police officer shot and wounded a man who kept paramedics from treating his assault victim.
Police say they were called to north Minneapolis about 12:45 a.m. for a report of an assault.
When they arrived, the man had returned and was interfering with paramedics.
Police say officers tried to intervene and a fight started. At some point, an officer fired his weapon, hitting the man.
Police said the man was not handcuffed, but some witnesses claimed he was.
Two officers are on paid leave.
