Former Junior Hockey Players Begin Jail Time

Two former junior league hockey players plead guilty to making a sex video with a 15-year-old girl.

Just about an hour ago, Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith checked into Clay County Jail where they will each spend 45 days.
 
Both 20-year-olds agreed to a plea agreement that calls for no contact with the victim, probation of up to 10 years and will have to pay $2,000 dollars in court costs.

Both men were charged on three counts.

The highest count is engaging minors in sexual performance and has a penalty of 10 years in jail and/or a $20,000 dollar fine.
 
The sentencing date for Carey will be January 4th.

Brandon Smith will be sentenced January 7th.
