Stenehjem Makes it Official: Announces Campaign for Governor

North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem officially kicks off his campaign for governor.
 
Stenehjem made his announcement to a packed house at the NDSU Alumni center.

The newly-minted candidate praised North Dakota for having the strongest economy in the country.

But he says the state can’t rely on agriculture and oil alone moving forward.

He says his top priority as governor would be to invest more to bring high-tech jobs to North Dakota.

Stenehjem says, “Job development. Further diversifying our economy, are the things that are going to be a focus for me going forward.”

Stenehjem says an economic slow-down in the oil fields is a challenge for North Dakota. But he says it’s a benefit because it allows the state to improve infrastructure in the oil patch.
