Making Math Fun: Gingerbread, Anyone?

Students at a Fargo elementary school sharpened their math skills while staying in the holiday spirit.

Kindergarteners at Lincoln Elementary constructed gingerbread houses complete with graham crackers, gum drops and white frosting.

The students practiced concepts such as shape recognition, patterns and counting while they constructed their candy masterpieces.

“Well, the kids are very excited for this event. It’s always a highlight for sure. They’re looking forward to their guests coming, and decorating, and feeling special about their creations,” said teacher Heidi Meline.

The other kindergarten classes at Lincoln will also complete their gingerbread houses within the next two weeks.
