Local “One of a Kind” Wood Artist Donates Prized Possession

A local artist is making his mark in the business world with Christmas cheer in mind.

You may remember Scott Petry from a story we did back in August on his one of kind wood Sculpting.

Petry recently donated one his most valued pieces to be raffled off in a Christmas drawing.

The New York Life Insurance Company, The Chamber, and Petry hosted an event presenting the sculpture to the raffle winner.

“If was there for a while, kind of a piece that I was proud of it just felt good to help someone else out, and give something always around Christmas time,” said Scott Petry.
 
The raffle donation has also started a business partnership for years to come.

“I love being able to showcase different artist and different businesses from the community, and I love the fact that we might be able to continue to growing that relationship,” said Jason Metzger with North York Life Insurance Company.
 
The donated sculpture is valued at over $1,000.
