Investigators Determine Cause of Grand Forks House Fire
The Grand Forks Fire Department says the cause of a fire that damaged a house on Monday was electrical.
The investigation found an inline splice was not properly located in an electrical junction box in the attic.
It resulted in arcing and sparking of the wire with the surrounding material catching fire.
The fuse connected to the electric circuit was also too large to properly operate.
The fire caused damage to the attic and extensive smoke damage throughout the house.
No one was hurt.
