New Year’s Blood Drive Sends Message: Don’t Drink and Drive

United Blood Services is hoping that people’s charitable donations this year aren’t limited to money.
The agency is partnering with Mother Against Drunk Driving for a year-end blood drive.

Organizers say New Years is the busiest holiday in terms of drunk drivers.

They’re using the holiday to remind people to be responsible over New Years, and help collect blood that could save the life of someone in a drunk driving accident.

“We wanted to bring this blood drive in to spread awareness about making good choices. A good choice to donate blood. It can help somebody in the hospital, and another good choice to choose to find a sober driver and choose not to drink and drive.”

Donors can also sign up to win tickets to a Justin Bieber concert or a UND Fighting Hawks hockey game.

The drive continues Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Fargo.
