Libraries Want Submissions for Community Reading Project

Local libraries are asking for your help picking a book for a community-wide reading project.
One Book, One Community is a partnership between libraries in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo.

The libraries pick one book and sponsor events surrounding the book throughout the year.

During January, the public is invited to nominate their favorite book to be this year’s selection.

Nomination boxes are stationed at libraries in all three cities.

“Anything that we think is going on in the community, or that the community will appreciate. So we’ve had local topics like orphan trains. Last year we did “Fractured Lands” which is about the North Dakota oil boom,” says Jenny Rodger with Lake Aggassiz Regional Library.
Organizers are expecting a record year for One Book, One Community.

This is the first year libraries from local colleges are also participating.
