First Responder Accused of Theft at Fatal Crash Scene Changes Plea

A former Dalton first responder has now pleaded guilty to stealing money from the Kvalvog crash scene.

42-year-old Tara Lindquist admitted to taking money from a billfold she found lying along I-94.

She had earlier pleaded not guilty.

A judge ordered Lindquist to spend 10 days in the Otter Tail County jail with work release privileges.

She’ll be allowed to serve the time on weekends.

Lindquist was also ordered to pay $86 to Mark Schwandt, a passenger in the pickup.

He survived the crash that killed Zach and Connor Kvalvog last summer.
