Three Finalists for the Knights Cities Challenge
Three community projects are finalists in the Knights Cities Challenge.
Three proposals submitted by people in Grand Forks are just one step away from being fully funded through the challenge.
Winners will receive their share of five million dollars to help make them a reality.
“Talent retention and attraction is really important to the community and also economic opportunity and civic engagement. I think anytime we can fund projects like those that are proposed it can make a huge difference,” said Grand Forks Community Foundation CEO Kristi Mishler.
The finalists include a winter festival, a food truck for New Americans, and a climbing wall.
There are one hundred fifty–eight finalists from the twenty–six markets that used to have newspapers once owned by the Knight–Ridder company.
The winners will be announced later this spring.
