Grand Forks Man Changes Plea in Devils Lake Fatal Boating Accident

A Grand Forks man has now pleaded guilty to manslaughter for a boating accident that killed a Detroit Lakes woman last summer.

Thomas  Burns also pleaded guilty to three counts of reckless endangerment and boating under the influence.

A sentencing hearing has not yet been set.

Investigators say  Burns was drunk when his boat hit a tree 30 yards from shore on Devils Lake.

April Stenger, 26, died and three other people were hurt.
