UND Still Searching for New Nickname Logo

UND has received 16 proposals to design a logo for the school’s new Fighting Hawks nickname.

Spokesman Peter Johnson says a committee is scheduled to start reviewing the proposals tomorrow.

The group eventually will send a recommendation to interim UND President Ed Schafer for approval.

The university adopted the nickname in November to replace “Fighting Sioux” which had been deemed offensive by the NCAA and retired.
