Chairwoman of White Earth Band of Chippewa Resigns
The longtime chairwoman of the White Earth Band of Chippewa has resigned.
The tribal council voted 3-0 to accept Erma Vizenor’s resignation.
She was censured in late December for working outside her scope of authority over a new constitution and faced an ouster from her position.
Vizenor became chairwoman in 2004.
The tribe owns and operates Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen.
