High School Hosts Water Fun For Community Service

A high school swim team hosts pool time for a non–profit group as a community project.

North High’s swim and dive team spent time with children and adults facing mobility challenges from Hope Inc.

The project consisted of aqua activities ranging from water polo to just swimming around.

This is the first year the swim team has done a water sport activity for community service.

“That they start to develop an understanding of what goes in to them being able to have a swim season; it takes a community to do something like this. Just maybe fostering the idea of that community service is a positive thing and good for them as people,” says North High swim coach Richard Phillips.

If the event receives positive feedback, the project could be coming back.
