Alerus Center Beefs Up Security for Concert
The Alerus Center will be ramping up security just in time for Thursday’s Jason Aldean concert.
If you plan on bringing anything larger than a typical sized purse you may want to leave it at home.
The new security screenings also include checking everyone with a metal wand.
Walk through metal detectors will not be used for this week’s concert, but you could see them in the future.
It’s a standard that many arenas across the country are adopting.
“You’re seeing more and more of it. All of the NHL buildings do it, all of the NBA buildings do it and now it’s starting to trickle down into second and third markets its best practice. We’re doing it just to make sure our customers and guests stay safe when they’re here,” says Alerus Center Asst. Director, Bob LeBarron.
The doors will open an hour and a half before the concert, giving guests extra time to be screened and find their seats.
