Fergus Falls Officers Cleared in Fatal Shooting

The Fergus Falls Police Chief and two of his officers have been cleared in the shooting death of a man last fall.

The Otter Tail County Attorney’s Office concluded that the shooting was justified.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office determined 52-year-old Richard  Blondeau of Fergus Falls died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers had fired at him after he pointed a gun at them.

They were responding to a report of Blondeau firing several shots at his wife’s car on I-94 last September.
