Chili Cooks Get Competitive at Farmstead Estates

Farmstead Estates Senior Community in Moorhead hosts a chili cook-off.

Ten people put their chili cooking skills to the test, with each creating their own unique twist on the classic dish.

Our own Rob Kupec was the guest star judge!

The contest was organized to create a sense of community and to exercise their competitive spirits.

This was the first year for the chili cook-off at Farmstead Estates with plans for more cooking challenges throughout the year.

“The chili cook–off is perfect, especially this time of year.  And we had to have the weatherman because it’s ‘chilly,’ so and our favorite weather guy of course is Rob, so we had to have him be our judge,” said Barb Haick, Director of Housing at Farmstead Estates Senior Living Center.

The winner of the cook-off was Lawrence Aakre.

Rob noted that his chili had the right consistency, spice, and just right amount of “something extra” that put his chili over the top.
