Park Christian Students Compete for Best in Spelling
Some of Park Christian’s best spellers put their skills to the test.
Four of the top spellers from each grade competed in the school’s annual spelling bee.
Twenty fourth through eight graders were quizzed one by one to see who would be crowned the 2016 Park Christian Spelling Bee Champion.
School administrators say it is a way to highlight students who excel in other areas, beyond just athletics.
“I think it causes the awareness of vocabulary, and kids building their vocabularies. It’s kind of a skill they’ll learn for the rest of their life. They can take it with them so we really want to heighten awareness of doing these things,” said Lance Hansen teacher at Park Christian.
The winner of the bee will move on to the regional competition in Fergus Falls.
