North Dakota Budget Shortfall: UND to Cut $25 Million
Acting UND President Ed Schafer is facing $25 million in campus wide cuts due to the state’s revenue shortfall.
Schafer says it will be tough to accomplish but he’s confident UND will deliver the budget cuts and the university will be better for it.
The amount includes $5 million in reductions needed to meet an existing shortfall.
On Monday, Governor Dalrymple ordered state agencies, including universities, to cut four percent of their budgets to cover a $1 billion revenue shortfall.
Agencies have until February 17 to submit their cuts.
