Twelve Car Accident Shuts Down Part of I-29

A chain-reaction accident shuts down a part of I-29 in the northern Valley.

It happened this afternoon around 1:45 in Pembina County.

A deputy responded to a crash between a car and a semi when his vehicle was hit by another semi.

That crash caused a chain of additional crashes involving 12 vehicles, including two Pembina County patrol vehicles and 5 semis.

I-29 in that area was shut down for an hour and half while crews cleared the wreckage.

A travel alert is still out for that area.
