NDSU Students Raise Awareness of Veterans on Campus
PR students at NDSU are launching a new campaign to teach classmates about a group of fellow students that’s hidden among them.
There are more than 450 student veterans attending school at NDSU right now.
The campaigners are reaching out to the veteran community to help them get access to resources they need, like mental health care and other special opportunities.
They’re also teaching the general student body about what veterans bring to the community.
“I honestly had no idea there were so many veterans on campus, and I have friends who are veterans. The whole thing was really eye-opening for me,” said NDSU senior Nikki Borstad.
The campaign had a mental wellness session tonight and another Tuesday morning at 11.
