Arsonist Tara Andvik Released From Prison

A rural Barnesville woman, who started a series of fires at her family’s property, has been released from the Minnesota Women’s Prison in Shakopee.

Tara Andvik must now begin serving up to 20 years on probation and continue to repay nearly $14,000 in restitution.

She was convicted of three counts of first–degree arson and sentenced to serve 46 months in prison in 2012.

Investigators believe Andvik started as many as six fires over the course of two weeks in October 2011.

She had claimed that her ex–husband may have started the fires to get revenge because she had an affair.
