NDSU Student Sentenced for Her Role in Deadly Crash
An NDSU student from Killdeer involved in a crash that killed a Minnesota man has been sentenced.
Nineteen–year–old Ashley Birkle was given two days in jail and two years of probation after she pleaded guilty to negligent homicide and possession of alcohol as a minor.
The crash happened on February 2, 2015, on I–94 near Jamestown.
Birkle’s vehicle crossed the median and struck a pickup, killing a man from Garfield, Minnesota, and injuring another man.
