IRS Hits Fargo Man with Hefty Fine for False Filings

A Fargo man has been ordered to pay back $45,000 for filing a false income tax return.

Authorities say 50-year-old Mkronja Redic lied about the amount of his gross receipts and sales in an attempt to minimize the amount of taxes he would owe the IRS.

Redic pleaded guilty in December to making and subscribing a false federal tax return.

In addition to the restitution order, the judge sentenced Redic to serve 10 months of electronic home monitoring and five years of supervised probation.
