Higher Ed Commissioner Visits MSUM

MSUM officials are appealing to state leaders in an effort to keep the heat and the air on.

Higher Ed Commissioner Larry Pogemiller was in town to tour the facilities.

University officials say they need a cash infusion from the state for things like roofing, H-VAC and other operating costs.

The institution needs about $10 million – the governor’s asking for $5 million.

“You got a good set, a very good set of institutions of higher learning here, and at this university, we can keep attracting good students if we keep continuing to fund operations as we have in the past,” said Commissioner Pogemiller.

The governor is also asking for $21 million in appropriations for base funding for these programs for the second year in a row.
