Barnesville Man Headed South to Volunteer with the Red Cross

A Red Cross volunteer from Barnesville is headed south to help people impacted by devastating flooding.

A spokesman says Terry Askin will fly out of Hector tomorrow afternoon for New Orleans.

He will make his way to Alexandria, Louisiana.

Askin will work in damage assessment of homes impacted by the disaster.

Flooding has forced thousands of people from their homes in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.

More than 8200 homes have been damaged or destroyed.
