Watertown Artist, “America’s Most Popular Artist” Terry Redlin Dies

Terry Redlin has died in South Dakota at the age of 78.

Redlin died last night in a care center in the Watertown area.

He passed away of complications from a nine-year struggle with dementia.

Redlin is known for his paintings of wildlife and outdoors scenes.

In the 1990s he was named America’s most popular artist in annual gallery surveys conducted by U.S. Art magazine.

The Redlin Art Center in Watertown features his work.

Redlin retired from painting in 2007.
