Gov. Dalrymple: Cut That Spending
Gov. Jack Dalrymple told his agency heads to slash spending by 10 percent for the upcoming biennium.
The directive to cut costs is based on lowered budget expectations, thanks to low oil prices and less drilling.
Dalrymple will use his agency leaders’ recommendations on where to cut as a blueprint to put together his own spending plan to give to lawmakers in December.
It’s the biggest budget decrease for state agencies since then-governor George Sinner’s administration in 1992.
