Jefferson Elementary Celebrates MSUM’s Read Aloud Book Awards

It’s one of the most fun things you can do with your kids – and studies show it makes them smarter too.

And now, educators are recognizing it – with an award for the best books out there for reading aloud to children.

Librarians and Jefferson Elementary kids helped judge the 12th Annual Read-Aloud Awards handed out at Jefferson this morning.

Children ages toddler to 12 listen to the books, then give feedback on the best ones.

“The ones that really engage the children, those are the books we try to select each year. The ones that have great stories, great illustrations,” said MSUM Curriculum Librarian Pam Werre.

The awards are sponsored by MSUM’s Livingston Lord Library.
