Former Minnesota Governor Passes Away

Former Minnesota Governor Wendell Anderson has passed away at age 83.

Anderson was surrounded by his family and friends when he passed at Our Lady of Peace hospice care in St. Paul.

Wendell was elected to the legislature when he was 26-years-old and then governor when he was 37.

The Democrat was seen as embodying his state when he posed for this iconic Time magazine cover only to lose public confidence by arranging his own appointment to the U.S. Senate.

Gov. Dayton has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor Anderson’s life and his distinguished service and contributions to the state.
