Three New Officers Join Moorhead Police Force

Three new officers join the Moorhead Police Department.

Mayor Del Rae Williams swore in Officer Andrew Werk, Taylor Huss, and Alexander Schlee.

The newest member gave an oath to protect and serve Moorhead.

And after, the Moorhead Police Department tradition continues with the family pinning the shiny badge on the new officers.

They all recently graduate from the MSUM criminal justice department.

Officers say they’re ready to step up to the plate and be a positive presence in the area.

“It’s a job that I take a lot of pride in. It’s really a rewarding job. You see a lot of the negative stuff on the media but Moorhead Police does a great job. It’s a rewarding job and that’s why I wanted to get into it, to help out the community, and be a part of the community,” says Huss.

The new officers started training the beginning of this week.

The force is fully staffed now with 58 people.
